Here is a roundup of some 32x drives, including the Mitsumi 32x

I’m reviewing the Mitsumi CR-480ATE (32/12/40) for CD Freaks right now. I’m still waiting on certified 32x media which is hard to get at the moment. When I’m done I’ll post it of course. From what I’ve seen so far it’s a great drive… One question though: why doesn’t Mitsumi use a logo on their drives? The writer itself looks rather boring

Well I’ve been told that they can use those cases on most of their CDR drive range, which keeps costs low. Even a logo on them would bump up the price, as the manufacturer charges more for a non-standard case.

I’m ok with it cos it means more people can get hold of a quality drive for a very reasonable price.

Glad the review is going well. Help me stop referring to cdrinfo all the time

Cheers,

Dibble.

True, very true  I’m hoping to finish the review next week (depending on when I receive the 32x media)… Stay tuned!
