A problem which I have with other LiteOn-drives like my iHAS 324 F

If both drives report the same, why it is not a media problem?

I though “recorded with” was only displayed for DVD-R, how is this possible for DVD+R?

CDspeed writes that info when using “Create Disc” without selecting an ISO image. I believe Tester_1 was mistaken when he wrote the disc was burned with ImgBurn, given the CDS_TEST_B2 volume name, unless of course he copied another disc originally burned using CDspeed.

Yep, aztekk, it was a copy&paste-mistake by me :sleepy:

I used CDspeed 4.7.7.16

@kycry:

Actual MCC-media isn´t that great, but at least readable if burned with most writers, like with the LG-based Asus above. The Asus wrote 16x and it worked, the Piodata (LiteOn-based) switch down to 8x and wasn´t able to do a good burn

Some burns of the same cakebox:

Isn’t the Piodata based on Pioneer and not LiteOn?

The name is very similar to the Pioneer, that´s right.

But it´s based on a LiteOn, like the Plextor PX-891SAF and Optiarc AD-5290S

Pioneer stopped own DVD-writer-production with the DVR-217/S17, all following models are based on QSI, QSI stopped also production of drives. My newest QSI-based Pioneer is from 2014.

BTW, the QSI-Pioneers have a different problem, it works at leat OK with MCC +R and don´t like MCC -R

I believe Pioneer DVR-S21 is still a QSI drive. Piodata DVR-S21 should be the same. See below.

In any case LiteOn drives look different and should be easy to distinguish them.

Pioneer S21L is a QSI, S21W is LG

Piodata S21 is a LiteOn

I have all these drives and can guarantee it

What LiteOn? An iHAS124 F? Does the Piodata behave the same with Verbatim DVD+R?

Yep, that´s what I wrote

Not sure about the model, the Piodata have a elongated LED like older x24-series, newer LiteOn x24-series have a round LED. The drive-casing looks like LiteOn-drives since generations.

But the problem with this MCC-media it´s a problem of actual x24-drives, my 124 B don´t have such problems

BTW, Panasonic also rebadges QSI, the SW830 looks similar to the Pioneer S20L, but the manufacturing date is more like the S21L; dunno if the SW830 support Labelflash
