i got a very similar adware/malware/spyware on my nexus 5 a couple of months ago. i am 95% sure it was because of BrainWars as it was the only change in my phone in over 3 months prior to that. i realized something was off so i rebooted the phone, then the crap started coming up everytime i closed/open the screen. nothing i did fixed it (yes removing BrainWars was first). i factory rebooted my phone to get rid of the problem once and for all.
