Might have to give up on DVDFab

By putting too much into one software package, I am beginning to get turned off. I have gone back on forth via email with DVDFabs customer support and cannot get any straight answers from them.

All I want is to maintain my DVDFab Platinum, period. I am not interested in blu-ray or anything else. Only DVD2DVD.

Unfortunately, I made my initial purchase of DVDFab Platinum last July. Therefore, I am not entitled to free lifetime upgrades.

I wish I can get a some simple advice on:

 1. How to install the version 6.0.1.0 and not be forced to purchase anything additional. All I want is DVD2DVD. No trial versions!

 2. Once this is done, how to get lifetime upgrades on DVD2DVD.

Sorry if I am confused but would really appreciate some concrete help here.

Thanks in advance.

Download V6 http://www.dvdfab.com/download.htm?vid=avangate&aid=689

Install it

Request new v6 key http://www.dvdfab.com/retrieveregkey.htm

follow instructions in email to paste it and your done, it should be valid until your current licence expires at which time you can purchase a lifetime licence if they are still available

Or you can get it now http://www.dvdfab.net/order.htm
just unclick the the options you don’t want and select lifetime in the drop down box. As its a lifetime licence it doesn’t make any difference if you buy it before your current one expires or not.

Thanks very much for the step-by-step advice.

One thing, when I install version 6, will I be asked up front which options I want? Remember that I am not interested in blu-ray or anything else other than the equivalent of what I currently use which is DVD2DVD.

One thing I am afraid of is to get a message in 30 days stating that my trial period is over, even though I already purchased DVDFab Platinum.

Purchasing new options is up to you. Any that you already have will expire on the original expiration date, or not at all of they were lifetime.

In DVDFab 6 Fengtao has updated the trial code to start after you use an unlicensed option. Any licensed or unued option will be unaffected.

Thanks everyone.

Here’s what I am going to do:

First I am going to purchase the lifetime license now. I think it is about $42.

After that has been accomplished, I’ll then follow the first two steps above to install verson 6 and request the v6 key.

This should work unless the lifetime license only applies to v6. If that is the case, I’ll have to purchase the lifetime license last. Please let me know.

Thanks!

If you’re going to upgrade to 6 anyways your sequence should work. The license should be valid for v5, 6 and beyond.

The ‘lifetime’ referred to in the licence is yours, not the product’s version sequence.

And, if, down the road, you decide that you need (or want) any of the additional features, they are easy to obtain and implement. Otherwise, you’ll have exactly what it is you need (and want).
