Microsoft working on modernizing Windows 10 user interface

Microsoft is working on modernizing the graphical user interface (GUI) of Windows 10. The company calls its design language “Fluent Design”. Where in the Windows 10 April 2018 Update the focus was on transparency, the next large Windows 10 update should bring more shadows to the GUI.

I’ll wait and see what MS comes up with, but I hope making the GUI look fancy doesn’t slow the GUI down.

Oh, boy… we’ve gone from beautiful and glossy (Windows Vista/7) to flat and ugly (Windows 8), to an alternate kind of flat and ugly (Windows 10), to “flat and ugly - but now with shadows”.

Oh, I’m sure they will find a way to slow everything down. And once they do, you won’t be able to speed things back up again (not even by using a classic Windows 9x look), because that’s how Microsoft rolls.
