Disappointed is a mild way of putting it. I dislike the Settings look and almost never use it, though I’ve never seen it crash. I keep a shortcut to the Control Panel on my toolbar and will continue to use it as long as possible.

Very annoying that they keep on changing the older style sections of Windows for no particularly good reason. How much effort does it take to keep Control Panel around anyway?Â

Odds are it isn’t going anywhere, they’ll just remove the ui link to it. When has MS ever actually removed any code from Windows? It’ll probably still be lurking there till Windows15.

This is totally mad! I think someone from Apple has infiltrated Microsoft to destroy it from the inside a bit at a time. I keep a control panel icon on my taskbar as well, it gets used a lot, settings is a pain and I rarely use it. Awww, I’m getting so sick of Windows 10. It took me five hours to straighten out the corruption it managed to get this morning, not even as if it had a reason! It just locked up and went, well if it was a horse, I would have shot it. I really can’t trust 10 to be my main O/S, it’s too unreliable.

All the bits this test machine is made out of were running 7 for several years with no hassle what so ever, everything has been adjusted and updated to run on 10. I think it’s a pile of what that horse left behind and is getting smellier.:Z

I use windows ‘God Mode’ on win 10"s desktop…far more better organized than Control Panel…

I must admit I forgot Dee had posted about God mode, I’ve installed it and it does look very useful. Thanks for the reminder roadworker.

This isn’t new, Microsoft has wanted to move Control Panel to Settings since Windows 8, and they said it again when Windows 10 testing started.

I suspect the reason why they haven’t got very far in recent times is because they’ve had so much trouble trying to convert Control Panel stuff to the dumbed down Settings UI, and then there’s what will happen with all the software that interacts with Control Panel.
