I have thought for some time that smart phones will eventually take over tasks that more conventional computing devices perform now. Motorola made a good run at this with their Atrix HD phone that had an optional dock that turned the phone into a laptop/desktop configuration. MS has a huge advantage that they are finally using which is their dominance in laptop/desktop OSs. If W10 is a cross platform OS then it will allow a smart phone to finally be the core of a multi platform system. This might make MS a serious player in the phone market. Now if they want to really take a chunk of market share then they should allow W10 to easily run Android apps.
