We’ve just posted the following news: Microsoft enables advertising in Windows 10 again – without user consent[newsimage]http://www.myce.com/wp-content/images_posts/2016/11/windows-10-toolbar-ad-100691547-large-95x75.jpg[/newsimage]

Microsoft has started to show advertisements in Windows 10 again. Users who previously disabled the option will have to disable it again as Microsoft automatically enabled ‘Get tips, trick and suggestions when you use Windows’ again.

Why am I not surprised when 10 sales are inflated and now we see the real numbers and Microsoft is getting desperate.

It’s sad really that these days I sort of expect this kind of behavior from Microsoft. Any Windows 10 stunts they pull really don’t surprise me anymore.

@Roho: Same here. Microsoft seems to insist on shooting themselves on the foot, with one stupid idea after another.

Hahaha lame. The Edge browser is terrible.

It does not inspire confidence now does it? I mean, it is deliberate and just so it is said, how hard is it to save user settings before updating? Why are services I have explicitly set to disabled go to ‘Automatic’ all of a sudden? Why is the Spynet membership turned on again ever so often? And for Pete’s sake, why does telemetry get enabled with almost every update :Z

The list worth ranting about does not stop there, it simply goes on like forever if we compile an all user hassles ‘current’ list.
Like you say though, it is hardly any surprise anymore and we should expect this to happen and go through all settings after any update and in my experience at intervals in between updates (Make sure to check services.msc and the various links in Settings->Privacy for everything that O&O Shutup 10 misses as well).

So what did they gain?
Everyone who trusts Microsoft, raise your hand :disagree:

I’m not seeing this, but I customized my win10 with thinks like classic start menu, disabling cortana/telemetry etc… maybe I disable whatever causes this.

It does seem like Microsoft doesn’t care about customer feedback.  They keep doing whatever they want.  The size of their (PC) market share must of gone to their heads.
