Yamaha has already released a set-top DVD recorder, the DRX-1. More odd is that NEC is noted as backing DVD-R/RW when they so far only released DVD+R/RW writers.

Microsoft should start to become more actively involved in the DVD-R format. The DVD-R format is by far better.
