Microsoft today announced a Wireless Display Adapter that is able to display content from a Micracast enabled mobile device on a TV. The HDMI stick will first become available to users in the United States and Canada.

I think this device does the opposite: streaming from your phone onto your TV.

In other news, I just read this article outloud, and one of my workmates sarcastically mentioned that Microsoft will probably abuse this device to spy on what you watch. I responded telling her she’s most likely already being spied on by Apple TV (among other things). She couldn’t think of a response.
