Microsoft and Google awarded as most ethical IT companies

Just like last year both Microsoft and Google have been awarded as most ethical IT companies. The title was awarded by the Ethisphere Institute, an independent research center that promotes "best practices" in business ethics.

Maybe that’s appearance of the “cleanest dirty shirts in the hamper”.

It couldn’t be the money these companies are worth that influences this award could it ?
In other words the best award money can buy.

Maybe next year an Oscar for best actor.

I suppose companies like Mozilla, Cannonical, and Red Hat weren’t even considered by the Ethispere Institute. There echics are strong enough to overpower Microsoft’s and Google’s anyday.

On the hardware side, I’d probably consider companies that respect the user’s freedom, such as Minifree, Ltd. After all, it’s highly unlikely devices from these manufactures will ever have any Super-Fishey incedents like Lenovo.
