I turned on my computer today, and after trillian loaded up i recieved this message:
.NET Messenger Service Staff: You are running a version of messenger that requires an immediate security update. Please visit (Link: http://messenger.msn.123/Help/Upgrades.aspx)http://messenger.msn.123/Help/Upgrades.aspx to complete the update.
Looks pretty fishy to me.
Number one: I seriously doubt MS would send out ims like that.
Number two: Im using trillian so it doesnt apply anyway.
Number three: I took MSN messenger off a long time ago, removed it the hard way.
Number four: Ive got a firewall running anyway, so nothing can scan my computer.
Looks like an attempt to get me to download a virus or something. I changed the link because i dont think anyone should click it. I changed the "com" part to "123" If you really want to visit it, just replace the characters.
But be warned. Watch out for this one folks.
Also i couldnt find the URL that the im gave me. Theres no place on messenger.msn.com for updating. I believe its located on the windows update website.
