If you are creating a DVD and need to edit an input VOB file and the creation program won’t ‘open’ a VOB file, then I consider that a reason to ‘convert’ it to a MPEG2 file, get it?
There are some other instances (which I can’t explain technically) when I’ve found it necessary to do a ‘convert’ because of problems with the way a VOB file has been encoded.
It’s good to know that VOB2MPG does not encode. Thanks for that info.
