Anybody know if the Memorex BD-R 6x media are any good. Not a bad price on newegg. $19.99 for a 16 pack… I think I will grab at least one BD-RE to play with a bit and do some tests so I don’t coaster a $1.00 plus disk…

It is Ritek which is kind of mediocre. I don’t think you will have any coasters with Memowrecks . Burn em @4x. These are the best I have tried just as good or better then Verbatim, looks the free shipping for 50 offer expired http://www.mediamegamall.com/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=smartblu&x=21&y=12

Thanks James. Didn’t know that the Memorex BD-R’s were Ritek…

There were some reports about Ritek BD-Rs losing data:

Just to add my input - If you have a look around for Memorex discs in their DVD and CD production, here on Club MyCE they tend to have a mixed to negative reaction of selling bottom of the barrel grade media at an equally cheap price. Although for $1, or maybe 70p over here in Britain it is still a good deal, but IMHO the Blu-Ray technology hasn’t got good enough yet to be truly reliable - Even the CD-R, despite being around a good twenty years, is only just proving itself to be stable, and the DVD is yet to catch up!

So, based on Memosux, Memowrecks… Whatever you call them, I wouldn’t bother - Purely because I’ve been warded off the Memorex brand name.

Just for the record, I´d really like to see a scan of RITEK BR3 6x discs.
They haven´t made their way yet to our local sellers, and if you buy
BD-R25 6x from the usual suspects, TDK for example, You´ll get CMCMAG BA5, which are a lot worse than BA3.
