Recently I decided to try some Ultra-Speed CD-RW's and bought a five pack of Memorex brand discs at Wal-Mart. I've had good experience with Memorex 12x CD-RWs in the past (However recently the discs are starting to deteriorate). This time, however, the 24x discs won't write without becoming damaged or unreadable after only the first burn. I've burned several and none are without damaged areas (Part of the problem is I'm not even sure if having damaged sectors is something serious or not). Erasing and re-burning the discs did some good removing the unreadable sectors, but they're still loaded with damaged areas. I've searched around this forum and some Google results but haven't found a definitive answer yet. Is this simply the nature of Ultra Speed CD-RW's, or is Memorex media crap as I've read several times at this forum?
I'm fairly new to optical media so this is all rather confusing but I've included all the information I can think of. I'm considering just abandoning CD-RW's completely.
