Hmmmm lets see, where to use those CPU cores on a 2048x1536 platform… HD games, graphics processing for photo editing (new iPhoto), high res 3D applications (Starwalk in HD…), 1080p video playback, Airplay mirroring in 1080p, etc. etc.
And Flash ? Is that a joke, or did you not know Adobe has abandoned that bloated crapware on mobile platforms ?
No serious photo editor would use an ipad. The screen is too small to detect small differences, and the interface is ludicrous for any serious work.
1080p video playback … oh please … a simple hardware video decoder is implemented in practically every recent video chip, so much that you can make a decent HTPC with a single low power Core atom/Amd E series cpu. All modern tablets have h264 hardware decoders in them.
Starwalk -> Seriously? Lol.
Games - All current games prefer dual cores, with higher clock speeds. Quad core just isn’t required.
Flash is required - practically 1/2 of the internet still uses flash. The fact that it is slowly dying due to security/production problems is irrelevant. Releasing a tablet that can’t render flash is like releasing a car without a steering wheel, claiming that soon all cars will be computer driven. That’s won’t help you now.
While you consider Apples iOS & “new ipad” to be visionary and looking to the future - it’s actually hamstrung in capability, and product technical specifications appear to be decided by the marketing department.
