Is there anybody trying to test if MediaCodeSpeedEdit can support for LG GDR-3120L 0079FK/FL ?

MCSE does not support DVD-ROM drives.

Is there any flash tool which can support the dvd-rom drive?
I want to play d9(DVD-R DL) movies in the drive, but it can not read dvd-r DL medias.
So I hope to fix the dvd-rom firmware to let it run the dvd-r DL movies.

I don’t think there is any tool that has allowed a drive to read a media it previously couldn’t. Sorry. :frowning:

Maybe you are right,Albert…
But I don’t understand why the dvd-rom can play D9(DVD+R DL)movies ?
Only D9(DVD-R DL)movies can not play with it.

The manufacturers have to implement the reading of DL discs not only in firmware, but in hardware. And since DVD+R and DVD-R are two different standards–wherein some older drives could read one but not the other–it stands to reason that the same can happen with the DL variants. It appears that LG hasn’t had the need to implement this in that particular drive, even though it is recent enough to maybe warrant the inclusion of that feature [cost cutting, maybe? Or maybe it’s an OEM drive?].

Probably that is another OEM’d drive with special firmware not made for the usage on cmputer BUT only in standalone devices.
So there will not even be a firmware available…

I also think this is no place to talk about “hacked drives for consoles”.

Thank you chef…
But another LG GDR-H10N SATA DVD-ROM drive can flash with LG GDR-3120L 0078 firmware.
It seems that the 3120L is the OEM drive of H10N but it can not run with dvd-r DL movies.
