RITEKG05 have always caused problems on all kinds of burners. Burning poor disks with a write strategy made for a different disk will cause very poor results.
Why do you need 4x write speed ?
Have you tried the TN03 firmware ?
Hello ala42, thanks for replying.
Unfortunately in my country dvd (RITEKG05) is the best price and quality.
I need to burn PS2 backups, and 8x speeds, backups are very bad.
I’ve tried the firmware TN03 and the result is the same.
With the previous writer (LG GH20NS10) could burn at 4x and never had problems with dvd (RITEKG05).
Thanks for your time.

The changelog says the LG BH10LS30 fw 1.00 is supported. I saw on firmwareHQ that there is a fw 1.01 out. Does MCSE support that version or will it support it in the future?

Thanks

It works out of the box. The patch mechanism is smart enough to find the code to be patched on its own. The checkboxes for the read speed and RPC patches are available only if the patch can be applied. I have to adapt these patches only if LG changed too much in the code.

#1646

Perfect. Thank you for your reply and for your work on this useful program.

#1647

I have one more question: If I use the riplock patch on the firmware for LG BH10LS30 will that increase the read speed for both DVD’s and Blu-Ray’s or does it only work for DVD’s?

#1648

It removes both riplocks.

#1649

Great. Thanks.

I have BH12LS35, I download the software but unfortunetely it’s not supported! The LS35 is soooo slow!
Is it possible too be supported soon?

Or, I see BH12LS30 is supported, is it possible to flash my LS35 using LS30 firmware?

#1651

The BH12LS35 is supported in the next release. I have to review the support for several other drives before release, so that will probably take 2-3 weeks.

#1652

Thanks for the reply ala42. The thing is I just got my BH12LS35, I still have 12 days to return if it doesn’t work out and get a LS30 which is $10 cheaper actually.

Both hardwares of BH30,LS30,LS35,LS38 are indentical except using firmwares.

#1654

just wondering if LG-GH24NS70 will be added… would love to to tweak this drive

#1655

The LG-GH24NS70 is supported by the next release.

#1656

#1658

Hi ala42: Could you please include HL-DT-ST BD-RE BT10N in the next release? It is based on renesas chipset, and with the current MediaCodeSpeedEdit V1.2.0.10 I was able only to see the media and the read speed and RPCx are greyed out. There´s nothing else I can do. The firmware are located http://www.mediafire.com/?6v66p68c42rdpua.
Thanks in advance

#1659

Are you ready for a read speed patch ?

#1660

Yes, why not?

#1661

ala42, any chance you could also have a look at the CT10N/L family while you’re at it (they’re using a Renesas chipset as well)? An autoreset firmware for these drives would be rather nice

I’m happy to test any patch of course …

PS. In case you need any of them I’ve got the following firmwares available for these drives (WA02, WH05, YC07, YC09, A103, WK04, WR09, WM04 & A104, ordered from oldest to newest) …

#1662

I have an autoreset and readspeed patch ready for testing for the BT10/CT10 drives, just send me the firmware you want to have patched. Displaying the DVD media code and write speeds needs additional work, as these drives are different.
