If you want to burn MKM 001 @8x and do not use MKM 003 disks, follow this instructions to use MKM 001@MKM 003 strategy.

#902

ok, it worked, thank you very much

Hi ala42,

MCSE tool is simply superb. I really use it with all of my drives like, Philips 1640P, BenQ 1620, 1640. I would like to use this tool for my Pioneer DVR- A10XLB drive. I can able to edit and save the table. But, when I try to update the patched frimware it says already new firmware. Please let me know how to resolve this.

Once again I thank you for all your efforts in building a big tool.

#904

You have to use a different flasher for your Pioneer drive, use DVRFlash 2.2

#905

I am looking for a alpha tester for the PHILIPS DVDR1660P1 support.

#906

Ala42; could confirm that MCSE does support BenQ 1655 (I see on your first post says yes) if yes do you recommand the use of it for 1655 I mainly use it for reading speed increase in the drive which was fantastic in BenQ 1640. Thanks

#907

Tried this software to get my DW1650 to write some DVD-Rs to write @ x2. No success. It is locked at x4 as the lowest speed.

Any way ala42?

But this software is fantastic for us non-geek guys for tweaking FWs (Slightly of course)

#908

The supported drives and firmwares are listed on my homepage, the changelog file and in the MCSE about box.
You should not use strategy swapping for fun. So if you get bad results with the stock settings and solid burn also fails, a strategy swap really makes sense.

#909

The firmware does not support writing @2x, and it would not improve the write quality.

#910

sorry for probably stupid question…
how could you obtain info about cav or z-clv strategies? I can’t find out where…
thank you…

[ DVD Identifier V4.3.0 - http://DVD.Identifier.CDfreaks.com ]

Really these is a Verbatim DVD-R 16X. Benq 1640 burns it at 16x with no problem and good results. ( I can see that from DvD info pro).
I don’t know what I’m misunderstanding!!!

thank you of course for your replay!!

#912

I have DQ60, and I want increase read speed. But the filed ‘increase read speed’ is disable. How can I solve my problem?

#913

Welcome to cdfreaks.

There is no read speed patch for the DQ60/Teac516E firmwares.

#914

Will it add in the future?

#915

Who knows ? I have no plans to do so, as it takes from days till forever to locate the right spot to patch.

#916

How about new firmwares for BenQ 1650 and 1655? I know you are busy but I was just wondering if you will implement them.

#917

Here are the Benq releated changes of V1.0.8.5:
