looking for info about cd and dvd media lifetime/durability

Is there any testsites or something?

I get the best cd-r scans with Riteks disks but what about their durability?

Try this site, loads of stuff to read, there is info on DVD’s not sure what though.

The other thing is, I think most of this info is now out of date.

http://www.cdmediaworld.com/hardware/cdrom/cd_quality.shtml#CD-R%20Quality%20Results

I always thought Ritek were one to avoid? I keep seeing people saying otherwise.

Also in FAQs etc I see people trashing Verbatim when some are made by TY, no wonder we all get confused about what media to buy, expensive does not always mean good.

First of all, it’s been said many times that cdmediaworld is not a good place to refer to.
We are @CDFreaks, you know.

As for FAQs and trashing Verbatim,
some ppl may have very bad systems, bad lucks, picky burners, cannot burn at all,
the media can be made by different manufacturers etc,
so that if/when you see some1 saying something bad ( or good ) of this or that media,
just don’t take it for granted and check if his/her name appears in the CD/DVDRW media tests
and the words are being confirmed by the actions as well.
