Results on standalone players: some freeze !

Verification with KProbe 1.1.26 at speed max and PI/PO sum 8ECC

If the screen shot attachment does not work, both graphs present a pick at both maximum near the end (9/10 of the dvd), for the rest the PI is a beat lower than 500 on first 3/4, and grows up to 1000 on the last quarter; and PO is very low (less than 100 and often null) except the pick. i dont know how to interpret those results but iā€™m interested on a tools that allow to check if video freeze will occurs or not.

Question for Marco

All the written medias I could read later in three different DVD ROMS(two LGā€™s, one Plextor)ā€¦reading speed from 4.3X to 6.9X at the end of media, with ZERO errors (even tried to copy data on every written media back to HDD)

but-most of them are returning read errors when I tried to read them in 1004im writer later
strange-if media was originaly burned in that writerā€¦it SHOULDNā€™T have problems reading itā€™s DVDā€™s

but, again, ALL media are being read with no problems and with high speeds in all other DVD-roms

reading malfunction?

Could you please try firmware 0043 and see if this makes the written medias readable in both the 1004IM drive and your other DVD drives? If it helps please report the problem in this thread http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=79970

The issue encountered is that during the playback on standalone player (Bluesky2300 or Yamada 6000), the video and audio are frozen (stop) during 1 second or less, then continue, and this 4 or 5 times at least during the whole movie. You can find the kprobeā€™s result in my previous post, and feel free to ask me others additional informations that can help you.

I can already add that with previous firmwares 038 and 039 those DVD-R Mam were not readable at all (except 3 of 10 tries that allow to show the menu, but nothing else) regardless the writting speed.

It will be great if you can find a solution to improve the result on those Mam DVD-R and at 4x too (as of now iā€™m not so confident to try 4X, but if it can help, iā€™ll do it) because iā€™ve got about 20 of them !! But in a first step if there is tools or procedure to check the quality (whithout watching the whole movie :wink: ) to be sure that no freeze will occurs, it will help me.

well, i bought a CIBOX yesterday and, when I found it to be a BTC 1004 I tested it to see if the (bad) rumors were true.
and no, Iā€™ve had no problem with it until now, except for a SKY DVD-R, burned at 4x, with dvd-video content, didnā€™t play on any of my standalone players, but then again, itā€™s a SKY, and where I come from, SKY sucks!
