those are the media codes off my dvd+r ive been burninga dn sometimes i get a good 4x burn other times its bad and they will not play. then i burn the next at 2.4x and its decent but sometimes the 4x burns are better! IM troubled that i can not get consistent good burns on the liteon 401s

ive been busy but i have burned a few dvd+r and im going to put this info with their respective disc in the dvd media forum asap!

I only knows about 4 different 4X DVD+R manufacturers:

Taiyo Yuden.
Mitsubishi Chemicals
Ritek (identified as RICOHJPNR01)
and some strange MEDIAID0001 sold as bulkpaq.

There for sure may be more, but not available here in Norway.

I spoke with some person with contacts in ritek and according to him all RICOHJPNR01 identified discs was made at ritek factories. This means 50%+ of all 4X DVD+R brands…

According to the same person there was some difference in quality due to the production time of the discs. (Earlier batches was worse than newer). Some of these discs was sold under known brand names (he did not mention which brands) but very many of these discs was sold under the arita brand name that ritek owns. He also said that datasafe bought some of these earlier batches and is selling them under the datawrite brand.

That’s all for now
