I just got Maxtor 160GB One Touch External (USB) Hard Drive for $49.99 from Fry’s Electronics. Consider the Enclosure some time cost $50 this deal is Awesome.
A USB-only enclosure is not worth $50 unless it’s way overpriced. The most this would be worth is about $20. So, the drive is about $30. Not bad, but then, the warranty is probably only 1-year, which sucks compared to the longer warranty you can get when you build your own.
some usb enclosures are FAR. And USB with eSATA enclosure costs around $30 (dealsonic.com). $50 for USB enclosure?? you mean 4 yrs ago
If you guys look into the following link you can see how many “Enclosures” have price tag $50 or more.
majoritiy of them range from $20 to $25 and those are very decent brand/quality.
$50 or more has firewire 1394B (firewire 800) and or eSATA or Firewire 400/USB combo. Plain USB 2.0 enclosures are relatively cheap
