The only JVC Victor discs I can find on ebay claim to be ‘Panasonic MID code’ (ie http://www.ebay.com/itm/10-1-FREE-JVC-Panasonic-Bluray-dvd-50-GB-Blu-ray-4X-Speed-HD-3D-Blueray-/400307710041?pt=US_CD_DVD_Blu_ray_Discs&hash=item5d3432e859), is Panasonic’s MID the same as those listed in this thread? Or are these different discs?

#6

Yes, the discs I burned are the same as those you linked to. And yes, the MID is Panasonic’s and the same as Panasonic branded discs. If you’d like to have a discussion about them, please start a new thread in the main Blank Media forum. We try to limit these threads to burning results only ;).

I am confused. I thought the MID code: MEI-T02-001 was for Panasonic 25GB 4X BD-R. Is this same MID code also for 50GB BD-R DL 2X from Sony?

Notes: Not sure this is genuine (or all of the discs) from this batch (from eBay) are. Variance is way too high for 2x burning in same drive and scanning with same drive. I’d guess that at least part of the discs from the spindle are fakes or somehow damaged…

friendly mod help: the inner hub code is the same format as other genuine discs, so no need to worry about that aspect. -Albert

Notes:: On Pioneer BDR-S09XLT (fw 1.20) and when scanned in Liteon iHES208, Sony branded MEIT01 (001) seems to give consistently lower jitter, but somewhat higher (higher than variance) error count at 2x burn speed compared to the better JVC branded MEIT02 (001). Then again, worse JVC MEIT02 (001) give a LOT worse results with huge variance. Of course, scanning on other drives might change this.
