What other DVD related programs have you tried?
There are many programs out there. Some are one click solutions, some are better at one aspect of the DVD or another.
Look around, there are a bunch of freeware, albeit, some take time to learn how to use or are more technical to use. Depends on your ability, level you want to get involved in the subject, and free time
Anyway, have a look at DVD Decrypter (for ripping and burn ISO) and DVD Shrink (for re-author and transcoding), to get started.
As for Ripguard, first we need to see what are the new titles to have it, might come out only in 1-2 months. Rest assure that there will be programs to rip it or bypass it.
As for VirtualDVD well, you just don't go around and download programs because they are free without need for them, you download programs you need, some are free. So, if you do not have a need for VirtualDVD, or don't know what it does, it is not for you for now
