Major game publishers support the Internet censorship bill.

The goal of the bill is stated as stoping copyright infringement but the language is so incredibly broad and vague that it could do a whole lot more, most of it not good. What would likely result if SOPA is enacted is a giant government firewall that would block unwanted sites. Additionally it would give the US jurisdiction over foreign sites which are seen an infringing on any US copyright. None of this is positive but it seems that many game publishers are on board with SOPA.

We all know what happens once it’s introduced. It’ll lead to use and abuse. The “land of the free” doesn’t look so free anymore.
