Major DVD Problem. Please Help

Ok, I need some serious help here sadly.

This morning I tried burning a dvd, simple work, stick in writer, backup, burn. Worked perfectly except the DVD skipped. I learnt this was down to a scratched DVD.

However attempts since then of different dvds have all resulted in a nice DVD coaster because I keep getting some kind of error while burning. THe backup files are fine, I’ve tested them on the computer, the source dvd is fine and like I said, I’ve used different DVDs but is getting different errors under different software.

DVD Shrink says it can’t write the lead-out.
Nero had some data error problem.
DVD shrink had the one below, the only one I’ve been able to save.

I don’t know what it is and I haven’t changed anything. Normally its such a simple process so I don;'t know what going wrong :frowning:

Any help is appreciated.

Hey there,
Off hand this looks like Sony’s ACCS portection. Try downloading AnyDVD BETA (4.4.1.1).

Really?

I mean it did work with the first DVD but repeated attempts on the same have failed. It reads dvds fine though.

Could hte first have been a glitch? I’ll give that program a try and hopefully itll fix it.

Thanks for the reply.

#4

Hmmm maybe not ACCS (still try AnyDVD). Cheek the disk is really clean and read @ a slower speed.

Er…this might sound stupid but how do I use it?

It’s installed and such but opening it just gives me the settings window. I can’t see anything about opening files or burning.

try different brand of dvd blanks.
try writing at the rated speed of the media NOT MAX speed

#8

What does the Key 0x03 mean?

I don’t have any brands right now…damn’t. I’m attempting to just write a data disc of anime episodes and see if it verifies that at least. I was writing at 4x, my max is 8x.

Either that one disk was bad, the media is crap or your drive just doesn’t like it. Try another one and if it happens again, you will have to get another brand of media.

#10

I tried it with a CD, data verificiation still failed.

But I tried again with the same CD and it worked.

Tried a DVD and I THINK it worked as well now…

I’ll see if the DVD is flawless and if so, not sure what hapenned but thanks for yourhelp anyway. If it continues to screw up, I’ll sell off these Infiniti and get something else.

Thanks guys.

#11

One other suggestion - try turning off your virtual drives while burning!

#12

Just another sugestion. Learn what media codes are. Download this free program
http://dvd.identifier.cdfreaks.com/
It will read the true manufacture and model of the disk. Most manufactures dont make thier own disks so if you say "I used sony or tdk or memorex, people still don’t know if it is good media or not). Further you should shop by media code, not brand.
