Magnatune: We're a record label. But we're not evil

Magnatune: We’re a record label. But we’re not evil.

We call it “try before you buy.” It’s the shareware model applied to music. Here, you can listen to 304 complete MP3 albums (not 30 second snippets) from 161 artists we’ve personally picked.

We let the music sell itself, because we think that’s the best way to get you excited by it.

We intentionally keep our music selection small: we’ll never waste your time with mediocrity.

If you like what you hear, buy online for as little as $5 an album (you pick the price) or license our music for commercial use.

Artists keep half of every purchase. And unlike most record labels, our artists keep all the rights to their music.

No major label connections and no venture capital.

We are not evil.

Full samples, lossless downloads, a much greater percentage of royalties going to the artist and! and! You pick your own price!! (within reason). The suggested cost per album is 8 ($/£), although you can choose to pay only 5 or up to 18. Any album you purchase can be redownloaded for 60 days. Each is available for download in: flac, wave, ogg, mp3, vbr mp3 and aac. This is how music should be marketed.

Oh and BTW, all DRM free

But I prefer WBAT Internet Radio for online radio. Free at

well, they might work for some people, but these people are never going to get mtv, tv, globally known artists… record labels help produce the music, does magnatune really do that, doesn’t look like it… and your not going to get rich and famous, since that needs big public promotions, which you prolly arent gonna get much of here

real (non internet broadcasted) radio stations if their lucky :stuck_out_tongue:
