[qanda]This thread is about the Mad Dog Multimedia Megastor MD-16XDVD9. Click here to see full specs[/qanda]Hello All,

After I reinstalled my Dell computer (bought in 2004) I tried to burn a dvd with Nero and got error “Could not perform end of disc-at-once”.

What did I do: I formatted c:, reinstalled Windows XP and installed Nero Version 7.9.6.0. When trying to burn DVD I get the error. I tried to find out what DVD burner I have, and seems to be a MadDog MD-16XDVD9.
I installed firmware 2.FC (the latest I could found), but still get the error.

Anyone know how to fix?

The report Nero gives:

What brand ans MID code are the disc that you are using?

#3

I’m using:
Verbatim Advanced AZO+ DVD-R
16x certified 4,7GB/120min
This media complies to DVD-R Version 2.1 / 1X-16X (revision 6.0)

How can I find out the MID code?

#4

Burning mode : DAO

If you are going to burn -R DVDs then you are going to have to change the burning mode to SAO , and DAO for +R discs

#5

Thanks for your help!
DAO means ‘disk at ones’, I assume? What is SAO?

In Nero, when I start buring, there is a drop down box with ‘disk at ones’. However, it is grayed out, so I cannot change it. Can you give me a hint how I can change from DAO to SAO?

#6

The DAO is disc at once, the SAO I don’t really know. I don’t use Nero so I can’t help you on the settings, but I’m sure that someone that does will reply with that answer. I’m sure that you will have to change it before you start the burning or use +R discs.

#7

Anyone else an idea how to fix my problem?

Thanks!!

#8

Try Imgburn it is a free burning program.

#9

Thanks. I installed it. and tried to burn.
Again I get error:

Any idea?

#10

You are going to have to set it to SAO or use +R disc.

#11

Is there an option in ImbBurn to set to SAO?
