Is the 1f2 from mad dog about the same as 1y6 from dee/lig??? and can be used on a NEC 3550a?

#4

What is the point of changing my Nec 4550 to a MadDog? Does it improve quality in writing dvds?

#5

MadDog firmwares support bitsetting on DVD+R and DVD+RW out of the box for example

#6

But it improves quality or not? The hardware is the same… I have already bitsetting on those dvd types (+R & RW)… What is the motivation for changing? Pretend to have a new DVD burner?

That’s something everyone has to find out for himself. For some it does, for some it doesn’t and for some there’s no difference at all.

I flashed MadDog into my 4550 but now i am using 1.X7 firmware… but yesterday i was burning a Verbatim DVD+R DL 2.4x at 8x using 1.X7 and it all started well, first 4x, 6x and 8x (first layer) but near the end of layer 1 my 4550 goes to 4x and blew the recording with “could not perform something on first layer on disc-at-once…” (i forgot to save the log…).

Could this be a problem with 1.X7? It is the first time that my 4550 blew a DL… should i go to 1.08 again???

Help me on this Liggy, please…
