Mac's to Windows/DMG to ISO

Hi

Im tring to convert files made on a mac so they can be read on a Windows pc.
Ive been able to convert 5 of the 8 cds but Im having trouble with the last 3. Heres one of the files converted from a .DMG to an .ISO and opened in “IsoBuster”.

Ive tried nearly everything so far including:

[ul]
[li]Iso Buster
[/li][li]UltraISO
[/li][li]Alcohol 120
[/li][li]TransMAC
[/li][li]Magic ISO
[/li][/ul]

but to no avail. Is there any other options left?

regards

MagicISO should be able to do it. http://www.magiciso.com/FAQ/FAQ0011.htm

From your post above, it sounds like you are converting them somehow and then trying to recover.

Hi Dogg & Thanks for the reply.

Yes it appears I have to recover the files somehow ive tried opening the files in MagicISO but I get the following "ERROR message: “Can’t find the file or file isn’t CD image file”.
The files have a double exstension as follows:

Any ideas please

Would anyone help me in converting these files on their Mac’s in to a Windows format like iso please

Did you try opening the .dmg on the Mac, then copying the contained files over to the PC individually?

Have you tried converting to bin/cue instead of iso? I know UltraIso can do this, the others probably as well.

Unless I misunderstood, the OP has the discs (that were created on a Mac) and is attempting to recover them on a Windows PC.

So the question is how to do this on a Windows PC or can someone with a Mac convert the files for the OP.

If 5 of the 8 worked, then I’d have to question whether the remaining three discs are damaged.

Correct

Yes please

They all work on a Mac but when I convert 1 of the 3 remaining files which is a .dmg to an .iso and then extract I get the following error from Ultra ISO

C:\Documents and Settings\Dan\My Documents\My ISO Files\Installers\Icon
’ Create Error!

Is that using Magic ISO as noted above (in the guide)? All the app is doing is reading the Mac ISO (dmg) file and writing a Windows ISO (iso) file.

You mean this C:\Documents and Settings\Dan\My Documents\My ISO Files\Installers\Icon
’ Create Error! no thats using UltraISO

All the app is doing is reading the Mac ISO (dmg) file and writing a Windows ISO (iso) file.

What do you suggest please

Heres what a succsessful dmg to iso extraction looks like

Based on the very informative error (sarcasm), it would appear UltraISO cannot create the file on your C: drive…that doesn’t really mean it can’t read the disc. But UltraISO would be the ones to ask about the error.

Ensure your version has the latest patches and/or try another application.

The only other things that come to mind is the disc is damaged or your burner is simply having read issues (dirty or failing).
