I have the LTR-48246K right here now and this is what I could say:
-WoW this is the shortest drive I've ever seen! It beats the samsung SM-348B which was the previously shortest drive I've had by almost 2 cm!
-Front looks like a combination of the old front and the front on my LTD-163D.
-Damn the tray was fast, it nearly jumped out!
-Sounds a bit different than my LTR-48125W (OC'ed LTR-40125S).
-Overclocking! Hm what? It won't detect any discs with LTR-xxxxxS/W firmware. Damnit!
-Writing quality seems to be good on most types of discs, works good in K-Probe.
-Damnit, it don't like my prodisc 40X CD-R's (to bad I've a pile of these), high C1 and some C2 errors.
-Yeah, it writes my postech 8X certified discs at 48X with C1 average of 0,6!! That's great since I've a pile of these as well.
Hm, where to find a LTR-52xx6K drive to rip the firmware from?
My drive is made in march 2003, firmware is SKS7.
