Would that be possible... if so, ill not buy the 48 but the 32 instead
Was just wondering, cause on a dutch site it is said to be possible..

I have translated it:

The people of cd freaks have discovered that it is possible to kind of overclock a few Lite-On writers. The Lite-On LTR-32125W, LTR-4012S and LTR-40124W writers are able to be converted to a Lite-On LTR-48125W. The mechanical inside of these writers are the same, so that a simple firmware update is sufficient.

I don’t see a reason, why you should first upgrade to 40125. It should be possible to flash vs01.bin (or vs02) without an additional step.
