LTR - 24102B will not read blank CD's

I had a virus and re-stored my computer with the software that came with it now my CD-RW will not read CD-R disc, old or new. It will however play audio disc or store software. I have tryed to uninstall and re-install the device and the trobuleshooter in windows says it’s fine.

Anyone have any idea on what is causing this problem and how I can fix it. When I put a blank disc in the drive I get a explorer report that says no disc in drive E.

Thanks for the help in advance.

All right.

Get ForceASPI 1.7 in my signature, unzip/unrar it,
place the unpacked folder in any directory you like, open it and double-click on INSTASPI >
this will install ASPI 4.60 in your system.

As for DMA, goto :

Start button > right-click My Computer > Properties > Hardware tab > Device Manager button >
+ IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers > Primary or Secondary IDE Controller >
right-click on it > Properties > Advanced Settings tab >
Transfer Mode ( for Device 0 or 1 ) > DMA if available

Reboot the PC.
