Low level control of cd write

I am currently working on a physics experiment for my MSc that will use cdrom optics.

To do what (I hope) to do, I need to write data to a cd as a specific series of bits as far out to the cd’s lead-out as possible and so I want to have full control of this rather than have to pfaff about with my cdrom software.

I’ve seen the Nero SDK & it looks good  but I have Nero 5.5 so the COM elements won’t work for me :frowning:

I am most comfortable with higher level OOs like Java and C#, and would prefer to use these but I am afraid I may be too far away from the hardware to do what I want to do. I am ok with c++ but frankly would like to stick with something simple (I am not a programmer).

Is there a way to have this level of write control with c#? With anything in my capability?

The lower level you can easily go to is described in the MMC
specs, get them at http://www.t10.org/drafts.htm and see
if it fits your needs. Check also the source code of Truman
in the “Home made tools” thread.

Cool, thanks. I will take a look at these.

Thanks very much.
