First of all, keep the computer off, take out the harddrive and connect it as an external drive to another computer.
Your best bet if not any Windows.old folder is found could be UFS (Universal File System explorer). Do an image if at all possible (ISOBuster raw image and open it in UFS or ISOBuster)(Personally, I use both UFS 3 Professional and UFS 5 Professional as they have different qualities. UFS3 will create the image needed too. Both works in Windows 10)
