Just found this forum and have been doing a lot of reading. Lots of great stuff here.
I've got a five year old CD player in my car that never gave me problems with older CDRs (dark blue, green/gold) but I recently ran out of those discs and bought some TDKs that were on sale. With the TDKs I was having problems with noise on my car player. Sometimes, it would be a swooshing, staticky noise but it wouldn't occur all the time. I thought maybe I had some cheap discs and picked up some Fujis which turned out to be TY manufactured. The discs record fine and I get absolutely no errors in Nero CD Speed but I'm still having problems in the car. I noticed that both the TDKs and Fujis are much lighter than my older CDRs and I'm guessing that the newer dyes aren't being read very well by my older player. The obvious answer is to get a newer car player which I'll probably do in the next year but I was hoping someone could suggest a source for CDRs that use dyes that are more compatible with older players. It would be nice to find something local, like at Best Buy or something but I don't mind buying through the mail or in bulk. I'm in the US btw.
Thanks for any suggestions.
