My current computer storage configuration consists of the following:
Pioneer 111L Writer
Toshiba 1712 DVD-Rom(Ripper)
4x500gb and 1x 640GB Hard Drives
I have a decent supply of Yuden T002 media for archival purposes.
For discs I care a decent amount about I'll use Verbatim MCC004.
For everyday PC discs I just Daxon AZ3, or whatever happens to be on clearance that isn't completely garbage.
For for dual layer discs I only use Verbatim for myself, the occasional Ritek D01 if I burn something for a buddy.
Basically, I have no ability to perform disc quality scans, with my current drives. Also, I've read the Pioneers aren't top dogs in the CD-R, DVD-R department, and sometimes DVD+R.
What would be the best drive to compliment my current ones, and/or replace the Toshiba, since it's about time to retire it?
It seems like likely candidates are the Lite-on 20A3 or 20A4, Samsung 203B
or a AD-7200 based drive.
Any input would be appreciated
