I have a new external USB2 SOHW 1653SX,dvd lead in for this sucker 1 min 20 secs,i also have a nice 16x MSI, lead in 18 secs,go figure!,anybody got any clues? ,btw everything is up to date, firmware, drivers etc.Tried different media and no change.
same thing happened to be when i had a 1633s returned it
Same here. Still it's app 1.30 min faster than NEC @8x for a full disc
I have a same problem on my dru-710a @ BYX3 .... the lead in is verrry long .... sometime even a minute and a half ....
and inspite of using 8x dvd-r ... mcc03 ... i get the occasional power caliberation error ...
Funny thing is that it burns like a dream,99.99% success so far using Ritek GO5s discs.I must have burnt 200 dvds so far.
What's your KProbe scan like?
What's more important is the total burn time. Liteon drives do most of the house keeping at the beginning of the burn, whereas other drives do it at the end. Anything under 9 minutes for an 8x burn is quite acceptable, -R can be a little longer
hey guys, while burining any dvd, I generally have a verrry looong lead-in time .... about one to a minute and a half. Most of the times it starts burning the dvd correctly after that, but more recently, the drive is giving me successive power caliberation errors. so is my drive dying? i have not even burned 50 dvds with it .... although I have flashed the firmwares many times .....
please assist ...
Yep mine takes a little under a minute to start with +RWith -R, they won't even start. I have to use a 1633s firmware for -R, in which case it takes up to 3 minutes to start burning.
agreed .... many people have this problem ... so whats the solution??
bumpity bump .....
