When my wife's xp machine goes into standby it logs her off and she has to log back in every time to use it.I have the same type machine and do not have to do that. I have set her settings the same as mine with no luck. Can someone help please!
Can you give more specs as to what XP O/S your using and the type of machine? We know it's XP but which version or package and Model computer to be sure to know what might be causing it. But you gave very little other info to go on??
you bet,xp home edition with sp3.It is a home build with asus p5q deluxe motherboard, western digital 250 harddrive, asus burner, and nvidia video card.
Thanks for the reply!
One thing you can try (if you haven't done so) is turn off the request for password when resuming from standby:
One other check is to make sure there is no password set on the screensaver:
Thanks,but that didn't help!any more suggestions.
Thanks for your reply!
This may not be the solution... but, open Control Panel and then select 'User Accounts'. Once this is opened, click on 'Change the way users log on or off' and then remove the check mark from 'Use Fast User Switching' and 'Use the Welcome screen'.
Problem solved, had to go into devise manager, mouse and pointing devise, power management and tick allow this devise to bring computer out of standby.
Thanks for the responces!
