Hello all and thanks for your time reading
Since always have problems burning more than 24x speeds, 32x starts giving buffer underun protections ( buffer goes up and down at higher speeds than 24x )
Burner is a Liteon 52x ( 52246S ) firmware 6S0C
Motherboard includes a RAID adapter, its enabled at the bios and at booting process the Promise loader says that CD drives running at ULTRA DMA 2 , but at windows at advanced settings / current transfer mode says "Not Applicable"
Neroinfo tool crash and goes blue screen and gotta reboot.
System config :
WINXP service pack 1
motherboard Gigabyte 7VAXP , BIOS DRIVE settings AUTO
IDE1 : 0 ( WD 80GB ) , 1 ( WD 80GB )
IDE2 : 0 ( Liteon Burner 52x ) , 1 ( Afreey DVD )
IDE 3 & 4 : empty
Testing via Nero CD speed with Verbatim 48x media media gives a steady graph of 16x, sometimes it starts at 24x then climbs to 27x and drops down to 16x after 15 seconds ( even i can hear it at the beginning spinning loud then suddently noise stops )
This motherboard is chip VIA KT400 , running with latest drivers.
The promise controller is 20276 Ultra ATA133 with the Driver "20276" installed using F6 at winXP installation otherwise install wont work.
Hard drive speed is running fine, also doing the transfer rate test inside nero gives 30Mb/s and more.
Need to find a way to detect if DMA is enabled, suppose its disabled it just matter to turn it on some how ( at the bios all drive settings are auto or disabled and the bios its pretty out of control of the disk settings since its managed automatically by the Promise RAID board, the bios cant detect anything about the drives since everything its made after boot at promise loader )
