@ fagawi

Welcome to our forums.
First I advice you to update your firmware. Your firmware in your drive is OEM (HP?), that’s why you need a patched firmware to flash a recent genuine LiteOn firmware. You can flash with SOHW-1633S firmware BS0Y using this file:
http://codeguys.rpc1.org/firmwares/dvdrw/1633S.BS0Y.patched-cf-mcled.rar
Even better is to crossflash your drive with SOHW-1653S firmware with this file:
http://codeguys.rpc1.org/firmwares/dvdrw/1653S.CS0T.patched-cf-mcled.rar
It supports more media and is probably the best firmware available for this line of drives.

Second I would suggest you to try burning your files with Nero Express. I have no experience with the burning engine of Recode, but I know many people reported failures with burning from within NeroVision Express. When I use Recode or DVDShrink, I aways save the files to disk and burn them using Nero Express. It never fails on me. It’s worth trying…

Recorder: LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-1633S,
Media type: DVD-R
Disc Manufacturer: OPTODI - SCR008

Failed to write 176 sectors at 54272.
In addition to abve, using high quality media might also help, Optodisc are pure crap.
BTW fagawi, update Nero.

#4

…thanks for the advice will try the above and let you know how I get on

#5

updated firmware as above.

The burning completes fines now - no problems.

BUT !!! the dvd player comes up with a message

“can’t play disc” ???

I’ve tried two different discs…both burned okay.

DVD doesn’t play them ?

Once again any help appreciated.

@ fagawi

That’s strange. A few questions, which firmware did you flash your drive with, BS0Y or CS0T? The burned dvd’s, do they play in your computer? What program did you burn them with: Nero Recode, or Nero Express. If you burned them in Nero Express, did you put your files correct in the red VideoTS folder? What speed did you use?

 Leo
