I am having trouble getting Win98 to recognise my cd writer as a writer. Windows reads it as a standard cd rom and not a burner. Roxio easy cd comes up with "no supported drives detected." I can't find a driver to change this. Can anyone suggest a solution?
you don't need drivers, usually the operating system provides them, have you tryed any other burning software to see if it will actually burn, don't worry about windows saying cdrom etc
Thanks for reply. That's what I thought but when I burnt data onto a blank cd nothing shows up in explorer. I used Nero to burn the cd as Roxio just says no supported drive. I tried the same with a cyberdrive writer CW099D and still the same even though I used a firmware file to update the cd writer. Thats when I found out the windows cd rom setting.RegardsJohn
