Hello peoplez
I’m been on this site often but am a newbie to the forums area. I was looking for info on how to revive my Liteon DVD ROM drive on the site but can’t find it. It “died” (an when I say dead, I MEAN DEAD, it doesn’t even come on enaymore, an it’s less than a month old!!) due to the result of an accidental flash.
Here’s the story summerised
I I was reading up on this site on how to “overclock” my Liteon dirve, I found the info an was beginning the procedure of updating my LTR 40125W to the 48125W firmware
an did the backup procedure of the 40X firmware (WS09) an was now beginning the flashing process to the 48X (VS08) firmware. However when typing the code line "MTKFLASH “X” W /B VS09.bin, I didn’t realised I had made a typo an mistakenly hit the number 3 key instead of 4, directing the flash to my DVD ROM drive who is the master on the secondary channel:( . I hit enter an the process had started, when I was observing the screen I had seen the “3” an knew it was suppose to be a 4, so I immediately turned off the pc. Although only 13% of the ROM erase process had completed, when I powered back up, hoping of the best, the drive refused to even come on, nor did the BIOS detect it. it’s so screwed
Is there any restoration process I can do so I can “breathe” new life back into my less than a month old DVD ROM drive, I’ve seen it posting, that when you have a bad flash with a CDRW drive, the green lite come on and stays on, butno light with my DVD drive, this also has me even more worried, since I’m not getting any signs of life
Is it gone for good? O yea, I forgot to mention I didn’t backup hte firmware binary form the DVD drive ( why was I suppose to, I wasn’t flashing that, sorry I didn’t now)
Any help would be gladly appreciated
Thanks

Too outdated I think. Even 12x and 16x DVD-ROM drives are quite cheap these days.

You’re right, it IS 608,It was what i swapped out of my tower,to put my Sony
DRU-500A into…
