Liteon iHBS112, iHBS212, iHBS312

Verbatim 6x BD-R (#43838 labled 50 pack, 3rd BD out of a new 50 pack, 1st in the Pioneer 209 thread, 2nd in the Pioneer 208 thread)
CMCMAGBA5
iHBS112 @ Plextor PX-B950SA 1.04
burned @ 6x (P-CAV)

So the LiteOn likes “bad” quality CMC better than the Pioneer 209, with these good CMCs basically the same quality @6x that the 209 writes @4x, best quality with the Pioneer 208.

Verbatim 6x BD-R (#43838 labled 50 pack, 4th BD out of yet another new 50 pack, 1st in the Pioneer 208 thread, 2nd in the Pioneer 209 thread, 3rd in the Pioneer 206 thread)
CMCMAGBA5
iHBS112 @ Plextor PX-B950SA 1.04
burned @ 6x (P-CAV)

A bit worse than the previous discs out of this 50pack, still very good result for CMC @ 6x.

The weird quality range of CMC BDs strikes again. :open_mouth: This is not good. :frowning: Hope the other discs aren’t that bad.

I think it´s still not bad

Agreed, but compared to the very good results this is rather average for CMC, although I’ve seen many results like this with CMC media. But fortunately the next disc is very good again, see the Pioneer 206 thread.

The CMC are still more stable than many other media, like my Optodisc (don´t know which manufacturers use this MID). Ritek was very bad in longevity, MBI have a bad quality control, so not many choices are left

Yeah, CMC is still the best media for a reasonable price, I’m considering VERBATIMe media as replacement for Panasonic since it gets more and more difficult to get Panasonics at eBay for a reasonable price, fortunately I still have some 4x and 6x Panasonic BD-Rs.

This Verbatim #43838 50 pack’s quality range seems to be a little bit higher than the previous 50 packs I got, still really good CMC discs!

The LiteOn handles the not-so-good CMCs a bit better than newer Pioneer drives (209 and above series drives).

A bit worse than the previous one, still ok despite the spike.

This looks good for the drive, I wonder whether the UE firmware gives better write quality in the external enclosure compared to the SA firmware, because I haven’t seen results like these with the SA firmware?

Now with the correct Plextor firmware for a drive without LightScribe, again a good result for CMC.

Yet another not so good result, especially the increase of errors from ca. 21 GB on. Still an ok result.

Looks pretty good coming from this very mixed quality 50 pack.
