Very nice result for Ritek BD-R. (Traxdata are Ritek’s own ‘Premium’ brand, so should get the ‘good stuff’.)

Any chance you could re-scan those discs in 6 months time? :flower:

There were problems in the past with degradation of Ritek BD-R discs. Hopefully it has been solved.

#1115

This is not very encouraging.

#1116

Apologies for being the bearer of bad news. :flower:

It is wise to be cautious of Ritek BD-R, but don’t assume the worst.

A few years ago a lot of people had discs which degraded rapidly, so it wasn’t just an isolated incident. But since then many people have had discs which are holding up perfectly well.

It was a similar story a decade ago with Ritek G05 DVD-R discs. Whatever the problem was, it was fixed and later discs reportedly lasted perfectly well.

Unfortunately there was no way of identifying which discs were bad and which would probably be OK. So to this day we still tend to avoid all Ritek G05, just to be on the safe side. And many (underinformed) people are unjustly prejudiced against all Ritek media.
