Liteon iHAS124, iHAS324 F (DH24AF)

@ Paxster: Thanks for your files. The EEPROM file is ok, the other 2 are just junk. Can you try to run DOSFlash on another PC?

Paxster, correct flash dump probably could be obtained with LtnFlash 2.6.11 in SFlash mode, but only if the drive is connected in IDE mode, not AHCI…
No worries hope this helps and let us know how you get on with it mate. If it’d definitely work id grab one myself as my optiarc 5280s cb plus is playing up on me. Great drive but temperamental
I had similiar results with my Sony/Optiarc 5280S-CB-PLUS, at one point I considered returning it and purchasing a ROBOT, but convinced myself it would be in vain. ROBOT is pretty much the same drive, but aimed at being put in a duplicator. I guess the laser and motor would be more durable, however accuracy likely the same. Just speculation on my part. I got a second 5280-CB-PLUS and it gets better results, both are well within the acceptable range though.

My LiteON drive’s continually put out significantly better results, especially when approaching layer-breaks and end of disc. BurnerMAX payload, which has been integrated into ImgBurn for quite some time now, truly did a number on my 5280 usage. I wish Sony/Optiarc all the best, but they dont hold much ground when put against my LiteON’s for PI/PIF, and accuracy/jitter. Perhaps I am just lucky with my LiteON drive’s though, and others might have the exact opposite experience/results.
Could not get Dosflash Running On my Laptop, main comp being built lol. But hear are some results I could do on my Laptop.

Hear are some more results.

Attached Firmware files, read from Liieon Util, EEProm and Flash Util

Unfortunately, although returning to MTK chipsets, hopefully for good, the new LiteON firmwares are not able to be dumped using the old/traditional tools, perhaps LtnFlash in SFLASH mode (with the drive in IDE mode, mind you) will yield usable results. I’ll be trying to obtain a retail iHAS F revision as soon as I find one available (I don’t purchase when its luck of the draw anymore unfortunately, I hate dealing with returns/exchanges, and have long worn out my patience after 20+ drives!)

Anyone aware of any USA based stores, or amazon vendors, or eBay sellers that have new-in-box retail F revision iHAS drives. M-DISC intrigues me, and I’d love to get some solid dumps behind the F revision, and possibly start on the next-gen MTK chipsets in the iHAS series.

We’ll see what comes.

Link me up to F’s guys!

zak7 - I found mine on eBay from beachaudio. It was clearly marked as “M-DISC Ready” in the listing. Their current listing no longer includes that phrase, so unfortunately I’m guessing they’re back to selling the E version.

NE seems to have the 324 F-based revision available, if their overview description is correct.

This eBay vendor also appears to have the iHAS324-F (M-DISC ready) version available, if their description is accurate.
