You appearently forgot to read this:
<quote>
Un-official firmware: Adds P-CAV and Mt. Rainier features. Since its a DOS firmware flasher, you need to upgrade through pure DOS! Use it at your OWN RISK!

It sure does by all accounts

OC HELP as above best buddy :stuck_out_tongue:

Here is how I do it:

I got to a w9x/me computer and choose to format a diskette and then there is a choice to copy system files to diskette, I do this, copies the firmware to the diskette and starts the XP computer from the bootable floppy that I just made. then I run the firmware updater

If you have Win 98, boot, press F8 to get the start menu and choose “security mode with command line” or however it’s called in the english version of win 98.

Thanks OC !!!

I created a ms dos start up disk form my computer then also put the new firmware to the same disk.
Rebooted with the new disc just created - took me into ms dos then after’ A/ typed in zs0g and away it went …

ps - in XP OK

i’m running win98, so i just create a back up disk,
throw the upgrade files on there,
reboot,
come to the “A:” prompt,
and then what…? open the .exe files or…?

i REALLY don’t want to screw up my drive, so i’m trying to be as careful as posssible…

thanks,
garth

I can’t blame you for not wanting to screw up your drive. Bad thing, that!

When you get to the A: prompt, run the zs0g.exe file by typing in: zs0g , and and then hit the Enter key. (Hopefully you put the zs0g.exe file on the back up disk.)

thank you so much for the 411!

has anyone tried it with the new firmaware? what are everyone’s thoughts on the drive with P-CAV? is there a noticeable difference?
