None of those drives are in production or available new. You can look for used ones on eBay. Also, check this forum for other ideas:

The LDW-811S was the worse burner i ever owned.

Disc burned with that drive were only readable in that drive.
I ended up re burning almost 70 data dvd because of that POS

it was also the last Lite-on drive I ever owned

Sony/NEC
Pioneer
and samsung & LG all make much better products.

Are you sure the Recorders are worth repairing ?

Is their something special about the recording feature’s on those that any set top recorder won’t do ?

maybe this would make a decent replacement

LiteOn recorders are well known to have crappy burners. Replace the burner with 1 from the list at http://club.cdfreaks.com/f102/replacement-drives-liteon-5xxx-recorders-207698/, and it will be better than new, i.e. if it’s a 5xxx model LiteOn recorder. I replaced the burner in a 5005 recorder when it was less than 6 months old with a LiteOn SHM-165P6S around 2 years ago, and it’s still working great.

:iagree:

I have two 5005 recorders…one I’ve used for about 3 years and still going strong with the original hardware…just lucky.

#2 I had to replace the burner after only 3 months of service.
Put in a LiteOn 1693s and it’s been going strong for at least a 1 11/2 years.
It took an extra minute or two to tweak the tray clearance with an X-acto knife, but no big deal for sure.
