Wind, sometimes when the drive drop down burning speed we see a PIF increase.
This evening I’ll try another batch of this disc and a YUDEN000T03.:slight_smile:

Quality: similar to previous 16x burns ( this batch isn’t very good )
Very fast: 4:54 - No speed drop

Anyone tested a +R DL with this new firmware ( XV5J HT688 ) ?

I use “OHT,FHT,OS on” in my burns with this new firmware. What combination do you use ?

Verbatim 16x -R ( MCC03RG20 MIT ) burned 18x. OHT,FHT,OS on SB off

This batch ( MAP637) have high PIE and low PIF count.

A small reduction in burn time. :bigsmile:

No speed drops :clap::clap:

This is great! :slight_smile: Burn speed is now faster than the Pioneer. 5:10 for an OHT 18x burn is excellent. :clap:

Now if only the jitter, towards the end, could be a little better. :flower:

Is possible to increase the number OHT points at the 1st GB and from 3.5GB to end ( 4GB to end already increased the number of OHT )?
In my tests these are the most critical areas.

Or maybe increase the number of OHT along all media ? the burn speed has been reduced. Maybe this can enhance the quality even more.

Very long lead out (which isn’t uncommon for this media, for some strange reason). Dropped from 20x, straight down to 12x. Bad disc maybe.

I agree. My batch have a high PIF count but the 20x burn was usable and without speed drops.

Verbatim DL +R ( MKM001 ) burned at 8x.

Sony 16x +R ( SONYD21 MIA ) burned at 18x.

However, PIEs are high when compared to the 20A4P 20x burn of this media. Jitter average is better but jitter maximum is 1% higher.

And yes, the last burn was a bad disc. Small bubble in the plastic.

It seems that any burn that has fallen back to 12x, is in for a very long lead out. This burn finished writing in about 5:15.

I’d like to see more burns like this, with my media, with a max PIE under 20. :iagree:

Finished writing in 5:05 but leadout took it to 5:58.

Did you try disable smartburn ?

Imation 16x +R ( SONYD21 MII ) burned at 18x.
